What is outperforming each competitor's own normal, not simply what has the most views.
Every competitor upload is measured against its own channel's median, so a small channel's breakout is visible next to a large channel's routine upload.
Every video on this screen carries an index: its views divided by its own channel’s median for the same type, computed only on videos at least three days old so a fresh upload is never mistaken for a flop. The board below ranks by that multiple, which is why a 500k video from a channel that normally does 80k sits above a 2M video from a channel that normally does 3M. Raw views reward channel size; the index rewards the video. Breakouts are videos at 2.0x or better, and there are 225 of them across the 15 competitor channels in this run.
Who WatchMojo is measured against
Each channel's listing as collected, its median long-form views, its cadence, and where its breakouts and subjects sit. Ranked by breakouts, not by size.

Median views are long-form only. Engagement is likes over views across the listing. Per week is uploads divided by the span of the listing window. Ranker returned 1 upload, dated 2011-03-14, so that row is a placeholder rather than a read on the channel. For 5 channels the newest listed upload predates the 74-day window the momentum signals measure over: BuzzFeed Multiplayer last on 2022-08-06, Recreyo last on 2024-05-11, Top 10 Archive last on 2025-10-24, The Things last on 2025-12-19 and TheRichest last on 2026-02-19. Those rows describe a back catalogue, not a current schedule. The BuzzFeed Multiplayer listing reaches back to 2021.
The uploads that broke their own channel's pattern
Every competitor upload at 2.5x its own channel median or better, ranked by the multiple. 178 qualify; the top 30 are shown.
The multiple is views over the channel’s own median for the same type, so it says how unusual a video was for that channel, not how big it was. 13 of the 30 rows come from listings whose newest upload predates this run's window (BuzzFeed Multiplayer, Recreyo, Top 10 Archive, The Things and TheRichest); those multiples are real, but they describe what worked for that channel then, not what is working now. Formats are matched on titles, so a row with no format chip is one the matcher could not place.
The field against WatchMojo, lane by lane
For each format, the median index of the competitor set's videos beside the median index of WatchMojo's main-channel videos, with the number of uploads behind each.
The field beats WatchMojo by the widest margin on Comparison (1.5x against 0.2x), Explainer (1.0x against 0.5x) and Facts / trivia (1.3x against 0.9x). WatchMojo beats the field on Prediction / theory (2.4x against 1.0x), Profile (1.1x against 0.7x) and Moments compilation (1.1x against 0.9x). Reaction / review has no WatchMojo main-channel upload in this window, so there is nothing to compare there.
A lane at 1.0x performs exactly like its channels’ typical upload; the number is a median of per-video multiples, not a share of views. Lanes with a handful of uploads on one side swing on a single video, so read the counts with the badge. Formats are matched on titles, which means a video can sit in two lanes or in none.
What each competitor does better than its own normal
Channels with at least 5 breakouts, each with its three largest multiples. 12 of 15 qualify.

Is there a part two? I love this guy and his stories
holy crap are we gonna get a whole dang FNAF series? If so, I would love to see how FNAF 6 or 4 would turn out! Recreyo knows what fans want lololol
Next time we should have a engineer build A rocket and a pilot, pilot it

Shout out to Downey speaking very very positivity of WandaVision. It deserves all its flowers
Love that Subzero's actor knows that's Kuai Liang and not Bi-Han. I hope we get the same actor as Noob Saibot next time. He was great.
Comments are the top-sorted sample YouTube returns per video, our own cap, never the full thread: 15,432 were collected across 255 videos and 11,725 survived screening for display. A request left under a competitor video is demand the field has already surfaced; whether there is room for WatchMojo to answer it is the Opening question.
This is a single collection run on 2026-08-27, so every multiple is a snapshot and there is no earlier run to compare it with. The competitor set is these 15 channels, chosen by hand, and the supply counted on the Opening screen comes from the same set rather than from YouTube as a whole. Listings were taken as YouTube returned them, which is why their windows differ by channel. Thumbnails were not analysed in this run, and the only platform measured is YouTube.
